Hey! My name is Matt and I've had ECGs in front of me for as long as I can remember.
I started out like most people, cramming in Paramedic school and trying to memorize the confusing squiggles for hours, and hoping on my ride-alongs I wouldn't sound like an idiot. Over time, I have worked in emergency medicine as a Paramedic, then moved into the CICU as a PA-C, and throughout my journey no matter where I am I know ECG interpretation isn't theoretical - it directly impacts REAL patients.
Along the way, I've interpreted Thousands of ECGs across all types of high pressure situations... from codes crammed in a bathroom, to crashing cardiogenic shock patients, and finding subtle patterns where the answer isn't obvious.
And here's what I realized early on:
